June Bronhill was an Australian icon of opera, operetta and musical theatre as well as comedy and television.

It's a fascinating narrated story of a young girl from Broken Hill travelling overseas, after her entire town had raised funds to get her there; to her making her debut for the Saddlers Wells Opera Company in London in Marriage of Figaro; to becoming an overnight sensation for her portrayal as Maria in the The Sound of Music on London's West End.
