Comedian Bios

Ben Knight

Ben Knight is an ex-teacher/musician from Queensland who made the move to Melbourne five years ago to pursue comedy and acting. Whilst hustling in the Melbourne comedy scene Ben scored minor roles in Upper Middle Bogan and Offspring, and in 2016 he landed a lead role in the ABC TV series The Warriors as Scottie Watson.

He has since gone from strength to strength, selling out his Melbourne International Comedy Festival runs in both 2017 and 2018 and recently landed roles in two Australian feature films, The Merger (2018) and Judy and Punch (2019).

Double Denim

Double Denim are singer-comedian Michelle Brasier, and dancer-comedian Laura Frew. As Double Denim Michelle and Laura have been favourites at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) Club and            Adelaide Fringe Club in Australia, as well as headlining Gilded Balloon’s infamous Late’n’Live. The duo have appeared at Assembly Festival’s Best of the Fest, Frocking Hilarious and at MICF’s Upfront Gala 2018           at Melbourne Town Hall – broadcast on ABC TV.
Their debut show Double Denim, was nominated for the Golden Gibbo Award MICF

Georgie Carroll

Born and raised in Manchester, England; now a proud Australian, Georgie Carroll is a comedian, nurse, wife and mother.

This combination of home life and hospital has provided 24/7 training ground that has nurtured Georgie’s naturally funny bones. Her bluntness and charm coupled with razor-sharp wit, give her a broad-spectrum appeal that can be put into any room, with any line-up, and shine.

Georgie took out ‘Most Prolific Writer’, ‘People’s Choice’ and ‘Comedian of the Year’ in Adelaide Comedy Awards. Her debut festival hour ‘Nurse Case Scenario’ was nominated for ‘Best Emerging Comedy’ at Adelaide Fringe and ‘Best Comedy’ at Perth Fringe World. Her follow up show ‘Gauze and Affect’ is undoubtedly Georgie’s strongest hour to date.

With 18 years of Emergency and Intensive Care Nursing under her belt, Georgie continues to Nurse when not on tour. This along with her exceptional comedic talent has cemented her as the go-to entertainment for Medical and Nursing Corporates, Conventions and Award Ceremonies.

 Lloyd Langford

Lloyd Langford is a stand-up comedian from Wales. He has come to Australia to try to escape from Brexit. He has performed comedy all over the world, from Abu Dhabi to Zurich. Most of his TV and radio credits are from the UK, sorry. He did Comedy Up Late on the ABC once but they censored a great joke he had about Rolf Harris. If you’re a fan of British comedy you may have seen him on Q.I. (BBC1) or heard him on The Unbelievable Truth (BBC Radio 4).

Tom Cashman

Tom Cashman is a rising star of Australian comedy.

He had a huge 2018, writing and featuring on the ABC's Tonightly with Tom Ballard and taking his debut live show Good around Australia to sell out crowds and rave reviews.

He was selected as part of Melbourne International Comedy Festival's Comedy Zone showcase in 2017, toured with Roadshow in 2018, and is a regular at comedy clubs around the country.
