The Stroke a Chord Choir began in May 2010.
The choir members are stroke survivors with damage to the language area of the brain.
As a result of this they have aphasia, which means they have limited or no speech. Despite this they are able to sing.
Over the past seven years the choir members have not only benefited from the joy of song and music, they have also formed a close friendship and continue to develop their communication skills.
The choir members encourage and support each other and all have regained their self esteem and self worth.
They lost this speech and found their song.
