This delightful and definitive musical adaptation of Kenneth Graham’s timeless tale concerns the friendship between the good-hearted Water Rat, the innocent and curious Mole, and the sensible, practical Badger.

What tests that friendship is the arrogant, wily and slightly crazed Toad, an obsessive animal given to sudden and irrepressible whims, like stealing motor cars, careening and crashing them recklessly about the countryside, and then fleeing the law. Their thankless task is to save poor Toad from himself and then to reclaim the magnificent Toad Hall from the Weasels, Ferrets and Stoats who have laid claim to it during Toad’s period of incarceration.

A tale of derring-do, told with great humour and affection, Douglas Post’s The Wind in the Willows sings to us of basic values and explores the responsibilities one owes to one’s fellow creatures.
